It seems that a lot of people got to the end of 2024 glad that it had ended! For one reason or another the year was challenging and best forgotten! This may be true at a personal level, but from an AIGS perspective we can reflect on an excellent year in all respects!
This year, AIGS celebrates its 15th Birthday, and Yellowfin has been part of the business for 12 of those years. What a long way we have come and what an amazing group of people, partners and companies are now part of the Yellowfin South Africa world!
Launching a new product into a market is not for the faint hearted – it brings a whole set of new challenges and opportunities! To start with, not fully understanding the dynamics of the market, we got it wrong! We tried to compete at a product and technology level and, inevitably, price! It took us a while, but 5 years ago we realized that the opportunity, and differentiation, lay in the delivery and realisation of value! We realized, as much as companies needed analytics, and software application suppliers needed better reporting and dashboards, the resources to “make it happen” were scarce. This was our opportunity.
As I mentioned in the last Newsletter, word got out about our services and during 2024 we successfully delivered Training and Support Services, including development and consulting, on 3 continents – North America, Europe and Africa!
In everything we do with Yellowfin we deliver a strong message that says – We don’t sell a product. We promote and deliver solutions that add value to our customer’s, and their customer’s, businesses. The 40% growth we enjoyed in 2024 tells me that it is the right message!
AIGS Insights, however, is not just about Yellowfin! We introduced Exasol into the mix a couple of years ago and 2024 provided another milestone for us. Exasol had always been an add-on to Yellowfin as an amazing way of overcoming speed and performance issues when accessing SQL based data warehouses. In November we “broke our duck” and, with amazing support from Exasol, successfully delivered a highly complex and comprehensive Proof of Concept, resulting in a 4 Terabyte Exasol order and installation! Riding on the crest of the 2024 wave, we have set ourselves ambitious and challenging growth targets for 2025! As long as we can keep politics, both local and international, out of the mix – I am extremely confident that we will create a new and bigger wave in 2025!
